What is the HealthCoach4Me Web site and how does it work?

HealthCoach4Me is an easy-to-use interactive Web site designed for people who want to take charge of their health. The site is a virtual health coaching program. By registering, you can create your own coaching plan. The plan allows you to select health-related goals and small steps. You return to the My Coaching Plan page to get coaching messages, tips, use interactive gadgets, view your progress over time, and much more. HealthCoach4Me also features a large Health Library where you can view and download up-to-date health-related information.

Who developed HealthCoach4Me?

HealthCoach4Me was developed and is maintained by the Care Management Solutions group within GlaxoSmithKline. The Care Management Solutions group is a diverse health management team that includes nurses; case managers; health coaches; quality assurance staff; trainers; social workers; pharmacists; and experts in medicine, marketing, and business. Working with health plans, providers, and consumers, this team develops industry-leading care management resources for organizations, healthcare providers, and consumers.

Do I have to register to use the HealthCoach4Me site?

You may browse the Health Library resources without registering. To create a coaching plan, you will need to register on HealthCoach4Me.

What type of emails will I receive from HealthCoach4Me?

There are 2 types of emails you can receive from HealthCoach4Me. When you register, you may choose to 1) be notified when new resources are added to the site and 2) receive text or email reminders about your health goals. You choose if and how often you'd like to receive these from your virtual health coach. When you register, your email address will be used as your user ID when logging in to HealthCoach4Me.

Do I log in every time I use HealthCoach4Me?

Yes, you will need to log in to HealthCoach4Me with your email address and password at every visit.

How do I get more information on a specific health-related area?

The site offers a large Health Library featuring information on a wide range of chronic conditions, general health, wellness, and prevention. You don't have to register on HealthCoach4Me to browse the Health Library.

What does My Coaching Plan give me?

By registering, My Coaching Plan allows you to:
  • Customize your health goals, track your results, and view your progress on your personalized dashboard.
  • Select email or text reminders to help you stay on track.
  • Receive support messages from your family and friends.
  • Recommend the site to others who want to Take Charge of Their Health!

How many goals can I set in My Coaching Plan?

You may select and work on up to 2 goals at a time. It is easier to focus on 1 or 2 goals than it is on a large number. You may also add or remove goals from your plan at any time.

Can I add, remove, or change my goals or small steps?

Yes. You can add, remove, or change your goals or small steps at any time. Simply go to the My Coaching Plan page and follow the instructions provided.

Is the information provided in HealthCoach4Me up-to-date?

Yes, many of the educational materials in our Health Library come from NCQA-certified programs that are required to maintain up-to-date information. NCQA Disease Management Certification is awarded to disease management programs that pass a rigorous and comprehensive review by NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance). NCQA certification means an unbiased third party has determined that the programs are well–designed.

Why should I use the information on this site?

HealthCoach4Me offers information, guidance, and support to people who are ready to take charge of their health.

HealthCoach4Me has received the NCQA Health Information Products (HIP) certification. This means that HealthCoach4Me went through rigorous evaluations conducted by a team of healthcare professionals. A national oversight committee of physicians analyzed the team's finding and determined certification based on the HIP GlaxoSmithKline compliance with NCQA standards.

Is this site secure, and is my information protected? In other words, how will my personal information be used?

GlaxoSmithKline believes your privacy is important. By providing your name, email address, and other information, you are giving GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and companies working with GSK permission to use this information to provide you with information and updates to HealthCoach4Me. GlaxoSmithKline will not sell or transfer your name or email address to any other party for their own marketing use. GSK will produce and disclose to third parties summaries that describe the utilization of HealthCoach4Me services. Those aggregate reports do not include name, email address, or any other information that could identify you.

Aggregate reports provide information (data) about a group of people as a whole (not about any single person within that group). Aggregate reports do not include names, email addresses, or any other information that could identify you. An example of an aggregate report would be the number of males or females who are registered on HealthCoach4Me.

Some of the pages make use of a technology known as Flash. Installing the Flash plug-in (version 9 or higher) for your browser will allow you to see these animations, activities, and other multimedia elements.
